Driver Comments

“An extremely unique rally, different from any other rally I have done, but never the less another rally to add to my experience. A very fast rally, which tested the car as much as the driver. We lost a lot of time to the high powered cars on the straights, but maintained a decent pace. I lost some time on SS2 where I had a small excursion after an open square right, which a lot of people seemed to do. We lost 2nd gear after service, and lost some time from that, but I was still happy with my performance and once again loved driving! It was a shame we didn’t finish, as we could have capitalised and we would now be leading the championship. I have confidence going into the Quinton Rally and pushing on to get a result and put us back in the fight!

586 Sports MG ZR Test Day

 Later on in 2009, 586 Sports are planning on holding a Test Day for MG ZR drivers. The idea of the test day is to provide other drivers and customers an opportunity to drive 586’s prepared MG ZR’s.

 586 are aiming to show drivers how much fun they can have in a 586 prepared car and to better their understanding of what the car can bring to them.

  If you would like further information regarding the test day, please dont hesitate to contact either Steve Black or Callum Black at;

586 Sports – BTRDA Dukeries Rally

586 Sports Latest News Update

  On Saturday June 13th 586 Sports maintained their 2 car team on the BTRDA Championship, this time heading to Nottinghamshire for the Dukeries Rally.

 Steve Black (586 Sports Director) took home maximum points when he finished 4th 1400 and 1st 1400cc in the BTRDA championship. His MG ZR didn’t fault and his consistent driving allowed him to also win this rounds MG ZR Challenge.

  Callum Black was just off father Steves pace when on SS7 he was forced to retire with a broken driveshaft. He was one place behind Steve when he retired but was pleased with the general pace of the day. However, Callum is still leading the MG Championship and will push on to the front runners in the next round.

  586 Sports will maintain their 2 car team on the next BTRDA Championship round on July 3rd – the Quinton Stages.
