“A fantastic result and an awesome weekend! I had such fun on the stages but knew it was vital to get a finish to maintain my championship lead. Paul and I did a lot of work with the Pacenotes and I really feel it paid off. I did a lot of research on bad areas, places where we might loose time and places where we could make time up. We knew we would loose time in the fast sections to the more power cars such as Pinchin, Middleton and Lawson but I knew in the tricky tighter sections my car control would pay off. I was also a lot more confident in the car on the faster corners, as a result of the set up changes and the awesome performance of the car. The car really was perfect all day long! I am so happy to once again see an improvement in pace as every rally we progress. To be matching the likes of Pinchin, Lawson and Middleton on stages they know like the back of their hand, in my first year of rallying is such an achievement. I’m delighted with the pace and I’m going out to get a result on the Cambrian and prove that we have the pace to win the championship. Finally, the weekend was tipped off as I was named the MG ZR Champion in my first season and furthermore handed the highest placed Under 25 Driver – fantastic.”
